Plastic Fantastic

For a while now I've been obsessed with these rubber/plastic shoes I found in The Corner Shop (One of Australia's leading designer boutiques) They're by Melissa and I tell you what, these beauties are not only shiny and cool to look at, but they are awesomely futuristic and stylish.

We've seen more and more advances in the Eco Chic movement and I've gotta say thank god these don't resemble the horrid crocs that seem to be appealing to the masses (dare I say masses of fashion victims?). From architectural influences to the punk revival, there's no stopping this creative team and it's collaborations with top designers such as Vivienne Westwood

These are the awesome pair I saw ages ago in The Corner Shop, can't remember the price but I remember being shocked at how affordable they were. Has a very Aeon Flux feel to it (Charlize Theron rocked that futuristic style in the movie)

Aggy showing us how to rock this look with pop colours. These ankle booties are just hot! I'm loving the whole deconstructed Rubix cube feel mixed with Native American influences in this look.

As if brogues weren't cool to begin with. Now you don't have to worry if it rains as these babies are 100% plastic

We saw them in red, but I had to show you them in metallic! Very Blade Runner-esk

Now I just need to find some awesome man versions of the brogues and i'll be a happy little eco chic-er

Animal Power

I was testing out the new "Next Blog" button to see if they had corrected the extreme randomness of the content it would take you to, to my delight they have, just make sure you are viewing a blog that contains content you like before you click it and it will find similar style blogs.

Enough geek speak, I was pleasantly surprised when I came across an image from a site called Mashallah Design. It's a jersey Jumper ("Sweater" for my overseas readers) with a 3D wolf coming out of it!! It's a special technique of pattern making and sewing which you can read about here

I Can honestly say I WANT, LOVE & NEED this! I don't think you understand how much I love wolves in design, and c'mon who doesn't want a 3D jumper?

Well Suited

Strange how I can be into unusual and edgy clothing, but at the same time have a love for sophisticated suiting.

There's nothing sexier and more chic then a slim fitting suit that has been styled well. I think that's one reason why I love The Sartorialist and all the photo's he takes of immaculate suiting, it inspires me to join the modern gentlemen movement, but I'd also have to have my days of street wear and quirk, I'm sure I can come up with a way to have it all and not look contrived/scary

Calvin Klein showing us how to blind on-lookers with this electric coloured suit, something they have been doing a lot this year, electric coloured suits or those acid greens (which I Love!)

Salvatore Ferragamo giving us this great tailored number with spat style shoes. It looks like a modern take on mafia suiting. I love this duo toned blazer

Private school meets sexual tension at D&G. I'm loving the sharp lapels and how the piping just highlights the sleek lines. There's no doubt every D&G show is oozing with sex and I think this was one of the tame looks (naked chest overload throughout the show)

The ultimate dinner suit from Ralph Lauren. Since I was 18 I've wanted a suit just like this in that regal blue, to top this look off it has my obsession item, the bow tie!

Trussardi 1911, I don't think I'll ever tire of saying I love this collection and just need every garment and shoe! We see here how to add injections of colour while still looking sexy and chic (Ugh how hot is the bow tie!)

I love this double breasted suit jacket, they usually have the stigma of looking dowdy on men, but I feel this one would suit many body shapes, especially me as I'm built like this guy, scrawny. Again loving the colour injection.




You can't tell me that Spurr doesn't make you purrr while looking at this suit! Here we see the new trend of ditching shirts which wearing suits and replacing them with v-neck tee's. The waist coat is fantastic and I love the sheen to the fabric. Santa you need to get me this, if not then get me a bespoke suit with this silhouette in mind!

I'm looking forward to the day where I can look back at this entry and say "Wow I own all of those now, plus an entire room of suits which amazing shoes"

Candy colours

I've always desired to dress in bright pop colours especially candy coloured lowers (lowers = pants, jeans, shorts...meggings haha). This could have stemmed from my childhood when my Nan made me pink overalls (yep pink denim) or the fluoro orange striped jumper she made me (think of a bee..but orange) I was also obsessed with my red converse.. I was 5 and wore them till they died... R.I.P Red Connies... now you've been replaced by adult sized ones and a red SEQUIN pair.


Childhood aside I think that block colours are strong again in men's fashion, kind of back to the days in 2004 when colour exploded in men's labels. Ralph Lauren have always been strong advocates for the colour revival in men's fashion and this season they didn't disappoint, we saw lavender cardigans over aqua shirts and the most amazing pair of aqua pants which I still say I NEED!

Here's the blue and yellow combination that seems to be ultra popular with European design houses, I even saw a few bikini's with the colour combo. But overall I really liked this collection from DKNY ..really good styling.

I'm absolutely in love with those shoes, the pants the coat... actually just this whole look. I'd be a happy man if I had an entire closet designed by Trussardi 1911, I really loved the collection and they always seem to please me visually and with their styling techniques

I really like this look, it's really practical and wearable. C.P Company are known for their great basics and I can see why. I really need those pants and loafers!

Etro showing off colour clashing at it's best. I'm in love with the psychedelic blazer it really reminds me of my awesome watch face.. I think I really Need this!!, it also takes me back to Corey Haim in 'The Lost Boys" (great movie by the way!)

Louis Vuitton showing off the canary yellow trend that is soon going to take over. I'm reminded of Calvin Harris with this look.... mainly cause of the classes with the yellow canvas beneath

I think it's time I dusted off my Germ Green Ksubi jeans and injected some colour into the masses of grey toned suits on the streets of Sydney.

The year ahead is literally looking bright and I'm excited

That land of blue and gold, is where we were free..

So it's not a new album ...but I was listening to my iPod and Goldfrapp came on. I was pleasantly surprised when 'Little Bird' came on from the album Seventh Tree, it's a soft melody that kind of puts you in a meditative state... or as I have been doing a lot lately.. it makes you drift off to that golden flecked meadow land of fantasy.

This album is quite a departure from the previous disco infused one but it's a pleasant change. It gives me a feeling of a kind of journey that a french-clown-wood-nymph is going on through a gorgeous country side.

One thing I love about the leading lady is her quirky styling and ever changing look. From the pictures below you'll be able to see some similarities with Mary-Kate Olsen (or is it Ashley?) Natalie Bassingwaithe and a sad french clown...

I swear I'm getting an Olsen twin vibe from her eyes... can you see it? Well that aside I'm loving this pirate look and I'm envious of her shirt and hat!

Here I see Natalie Basinggwaithe .. can you see it? I love the harlequin print all-in-one suit with a silk ruffle collar. Loving the sun spilling over the mountain and meadow, I think it's always an image I'm drawn to... leaks of golden sun over gorgeous fields.

You can't ignore that this one is the sad french clown! I honestly wish people would wear this in real life, it's just so fun and whimsical, or is that just the lavender field intoxicating my senses?

A better shot of the harlequin all in one, she jazzed it up with the covetable pirate hat this time.

Accessory of the season? a giant owl! you must get one if you are ever going to be the pirate clown you are destined to be!

This kinda makes you feel all warm and safe, one of my favourite images from the album artwork. Alison looks so at peace.. and so awesome in her clowny clothes!

Overall Seven Tree not only gives you visual delight but it also is a great album. I loved that when you purchase the "Deluxe" version you are given mini post card style images of this photo shoot and two giant matte finish posters.

This is a fantasy shoot that I will be cherishing for a long time,

Fire Locks

One thing that I can say about myself is that I'm extremely like a fish, as in I'm attracted to colourful and shiny objects. With this similarity you would noticed that everything I like is always colourful or shiny or simply the both combined.

Right now a colour I'm obsessed with is red, there's nothing quite as exciting as an attractive model with fiery red locks (especially that red cordial colour).





A model channeling the Ariel look from 'The Little Mermaid'... well that's the association that my brain linked this picture to (oh and hey it links to my fish comment above!!) Check out those red lips!

Not only am I loving this red cordial hair but I'm loving the bashful pink tone used as eye shadow and with the hint of colour on her lips. To top it off she has nice green eyes.

Like it both ways?!

A couple of years ago my friend was showing me an article on some amazing jeans that fully reversed as if you had 2 pairs of jeans in one. Back then I thought they were great but just didn't think twice as I worked for a denim retailer and owned 200 pairs of jeans (after a culling I'm down to 120).

Now that I'm older and wiser ...and in desperate need of great fashionable jeans (lets face it... I may have 120 but I only wear 4 pairs and they are dying!) I decided to look them up again, I wasn't disappointed. Finn denim may be one of the most innovative denim designers I have come across, not only are the jeans on offer great but I literally am having difficulty changing my mind on using my credit card, I'm not allowed to and I really cant afford to... but I need these jeans!!!

Not only do I love this shot for it's artistic purposes but I am in love with these red metallic jeans called "Red Corvette". I'm going to justify that not only will I look fab in these jeans BUT I technically get TWO pairs in the one!

Since a horrible twist of fate destroyed my checked Wrangler skinnies I have now found out why the fashion gods ruined them. They decided that these HOT jeans were better for me and I shall be lusting over these until they are wrapped around me. "Anti Kilt" will you marry my legs?

Think us boys get all the cool threads? Finn have made the same styles for the ladies too, imagine having a boyfriend with the same jeans and turning up to a party and going "OMG we are wearing the same jeans" not a problem, drop your pants and switch them inside out and you have a new pair, fashion crisis averted!

Rockabilly eat your heart out, they also channel a good punk look (not that rubbish emo stuff) It seems these jeans are so hot you don't even need a top! chuck on a scarf and you're set to rock these hot jeans.
